Behind Door #2, A Brand NEW CAR!!!!! (sorta)

 

 So the Walbruch's have been car hunting for around a month, due to the unfortunate circumstances that befell our VW Passat (unfortunate as in... they couldn't build a car that lasts longer). Our friend and mechanic Andrew was helping us out a bit by checking with people in the biz (i'm guessing the car biz?) but I'll leave that to him (if you know people you know people, you know?) We were searching on our own as well, but with little to no luck.  We were looking for a cross-over vehicle that could get us where we needed to go in every season this great state throws at us, without killing us at the pump. By the way, have you seen those prices? YIKES! So we finally here about one that we really want to test drive a 2008 Mazda 5 Grand Touring Series (fancy sounding, huh?) The dealership was willing to drive it to Jana's work in Saint Paul, so she could test drive it over her lunch break. (the dealership is in Minnetonka, that's service!) It was a little bit bigger than we wanted, but got the same MPG as our previous whip. (that's what they call them these days apparently) We went over the Morries on a Thursday and drove it home that night, got a great interest rate and have been thrilled ever since with it! ....AND YES IT IS A MINIVAN.... AND NO JANA IS NOT PREGNANT (seriously I don't want to have to answer those questions again, at least not for now:))

I love the sales after Christmas....especially the Target sales.  Sure, you can get all the Christmas decorations really cheap but that isn't really what caught my eye this year.  This year I stumbled upon the pet isle and it just happened to be full of Christmas sweaters for dogs and wait for it.............PAJAMAS!  Right there I thought, Otis has to have some pajamas.  He NEEDS pajamas to stay warm.  Really, I was considering Otis's best interest at heart when placing the pajamas in the cart.  Okay, there could have been maybe a small part of me that was perhaps wanting some entertainment thus placing the pajamas in the cart but a good 67 percent we will say I was keeping Otis's best interest at heart.  I couldn't wait to get home to try the pajamas on Otis.  They fit like a glove.  He really wasn't too keen to be wearing them but after giving him a few pieces of ham he didn't even notice he had them on.  Genius I tell you.    

"Look Not Behind Thee"

We all have those new year's resolutions.  Somehow at the top of my list every year happens to be losing weight.  I think it happens to be A LOT of people's resolution because the gym just happens to be so stinkin' crowded it makes me want to scream and pull my hair out.

This year I want my focus to be made somewhere different.  I thought this a beautiful message and good way to bring in the New Year.  Looking forward with faith, knowing that we have a loving Heavenly Father and Savior who are in the details of our lives and being able to get up and try again tomorrow.
